Bragdarlogi - Hygg Meg Í Eyguni
I have known the guys from Bragdarlogi for many years, and I’ve even played in bands with a majority of the members, back when I lived in the Faroe Islands. When they approached me to make a lyric video for one of their songs on their upcoming album, I was more than happy to do so.
Method
My method of creating a lyric video is simple. I read the lyrics and listened to the song several times. This is in order to get to know the song, so I can visualize which phrases I want to emphasize.
Once I’ve done so, I start adding the lyric in with the music in After Effects.
Before making any fancy text animations, I make sure that the text aligns with the tempo and rhythm of the song. At this point, I start adding animations to individual words and sentences.
It is very important that the scale, weight and pace of the words that are being animated match the volume and intensity of the vocals.Once I’ve done so, I start adding the lyric in with the music in After Effects.
Bragdarlogi is a Faroese rock band established in the spring of 2016, consisting of highly experienced musicians on the Faroese metal scene and internationally as well. Ever since its establishment the band has been working consistently on writing material for a studio album, which debuted 14/12-2018.
